Jesse Darland
One of the most important parts of recovery are the surroundings you are in. The biggest asset of our house is Jesse Darland, the House Manager.
Jesse got an idea of becoming a House Manager after going through a tough recovery period realizing how hard it was for him to find housing as a newly recovered addict. The requirement in most Sober Living facilities is that you can only get in after having been in a treatment center. At that stage of his life, Jesse was already clean for a while and going to a treatment center was no longer needed. He had lived on friends’ couches, in bad situations where his will power was tested daily and even out on the streets which is not conducive to the recovery process.
When I asked Jesse what would be the hardest things on the journey of recovery for those starting out, he told me they are housing and keeping a job. The recovery comes before trying to keep a job or an apartment/room. “Whatever you put in front of your recovery, would be the first thing you lose after”. You can’t put yourself under too much pressure trying to sustain a job and an apartment. That’s where the affordable sober living solution like New Start Sober Living plays a big part – you have an inexpensive comfortable place to live and people who surround you are understanding and helpful. Jesse has been helping his peers with getting jobs, invaluable advice and sometimes, a shoulder of support when stuff hits the fan.
I can say with confidence that he treats everyone as a roommate and enforces the rules without judgement. Just by talking to him, you will find yourself in the positive atmosphere to do better and be better.

Christopher Biznon
Christopher Biznon has come to find immense success in his sobriety, which he will tell you he owes to God, and New Start Sober Living. Born in the oil fields of Texas and finished in the Nevada heat, Chris has over come tremendous obstacles in life, though rarely takes credit for them.
Chris has attended Ohio University, is a professional visual artist as well as a fully licensed Tattoo Artist. When he is not managing the various assets of New Start, he can be found engineering a safer, sustainable future for Las Vegas as a Solar Technician.
Well read and we’ll educated, Chris takes his sobriety seriously. He hopes to one day own a tattoo shop and/or gallery, and eventually become an accomplished novelist. We our proud to say Chris is a shining example as to the capabilities of our program and the peace out housing offers.
